As expected, Jeannette defensive back Demetrious Cox announced tonight that he will play next season at Michigan State.

Cox made his college announcement on KDKA Channel 2 television. His other finalists were Penn State, Ohio State and Wisconsin. Cox was recruited by Michigan State to play safety, but Jeannette coach Roy Hall said there has been some talk about possibly using Cox in some "wildcat" formations. Cox had more than 2,000 yards offense this past season, including more than 1,000 yards rushing.

State champion coach passes

Sad news. Over the weekend, Fred Yee passed away. A good guy. Yee was the coach of Schenley's 1978 state championship team that beat Lebanon and Sam Bowie in the title game.

Yee also won a number of City League championships in basketball and also girls softball.

Let's not sugarcoat the Geter thing Coach Sto-Rox.
The academic standards of NCAA Clearinghouse for D1 and D2 are the same!! If he can't qualify for Pitt, he can't qualify for Slippery Rock!!
There is only 1 reason Chryst pulled the ship from Geter.. it is what he tweeted and nothing to do with academic qualifications.

It's Mike White. I don't mean to jump you, but need to tell you that you are wrong, and I don't want others to think the same. The academic requirements for D-1 and D-11 are NOT the same. They are very different. Want a couple examples?? In D-1 you need 16 core courses, 4 years of English and 3 of math. In D-11 you need only 14 core courses, 3 years of English and 2 in math.
Also, there is a sliding scale for D-1. For example, if you have a 2.0 grade average in core courses, you need a 1,010 on SAT. In D-11, there is NO sliding scale. You only need a minimum 2.0 in core courses and only 820 on SAT. So, the two are drastically different and the Sto-Rox coach is correct.

My bad...
I thought they were the same as you have to register with NCAA clearinghouse whether D1 or D2.
I went looking for the sliding scale and found the D2 stuff... here is the link

With all the trash talking and negative comments from high school kids, wasn't it refreshing to read about Steven Adams. I don't know how long he will stay at Pitt, but based on his comments on a variety of topics, it seems that Pitt is getting a bona fide prospect and an even better young man. He said all of the right things and seems genuinely excited about being part of Pitt's program. Maybe he will make people forget about Khem "I didn't get my own way" Birch. I wonder how much of a factor the culture and upbringing of these athletes has to do with the way they handle themselves.

btw.. I think Rippy is picking Pitt..
WVU has 26 committs so far and I think they only have room for 22!!
I think that is the 3rd time ship pulled (sort of) on rippy.. Florida, Colorado, WVU.

Rippy is overrated. I can name a several WPIAL Linebackers just as good as him that probaly won't be going D1A.

Thats too bad about Jarret. He could have played as a freshman. He is just as good as Aaron Donald but bigger and possibly faster.
