Woodland Hills basketball player Shakim Alonzo floored Peters Township player Gabe Pritz with a punch late in Saturday's WPIAL playoff game, and Peters Township coach Gary Goga was fuming afterward.
Alonzo had to be restrained after punching Pritz during Peters Township's victory against Woodland Hills in a Class AAAA first-round game. MSA Sports was broadcasting the game on its internet site, and announcers Lanny Frattare and Mark Schaas got Goga on the air about one minute after the final buzzer.
Goga was so upset that he called Alonzo a "punk" and said Alonzo should lose his football scholarship to the University of Cincinnati.
"Our kid gets sucker punched. [Alonzo] should lose his scholarship to Cincinnati," Goga said. "If I'm the Cincinnati football coach, I don't let him walk on my campus. That's a punk who should never be allowed to play. I'm glad they lost, first of all. They should've forfeited the moment [Alonzo] did that, and it's embarrassing. I hope he loses his scholarship."
Goga went on to say how tough Pritz is.
"Gabe is as tough as nails," Goga said. "He's tougher than that Division I football player, because he has heart and he's not a loose cannon and a punk. They should've pulled those kids off [the court], and the game should've been over. Even to remotely give them a chance to win is terrible."

I agree with the coach, what a gutless punk. At least we are shipping him out of Pittsburgh to let someone else deal with his nonsense...He could not even hit him straight up he had to sucker punch him, what a loser who will get his when Karma catches his sorry behind.............
"The whole district is pathetic" - from a teacher who works at the high school, I kid you not when we discussed this latest issue!!!!!!!!!!!
